Abandoned Forest

A Metroidvania game and the final project for my Video Games module.

The player plays as a fox who is trying to save a dying forest, guided by a crow. The fox needs to make three sacrifices, each time losing something precious to them, as well as an ability and a life.
The game features classic platforming abilities such as run, jump, dash, and gravity reversal. The game consists of overcoming platforming challenges while avoiding spikes, bullets and ash rain.
It has a checkpoint-based auto-saving feature and two endings, which change the title screen art. When the player takes damage, they are invincible for 3 seconds, which is indicated by a sprite colour change.
